When you are selecting a topic for your biology investigatory project, you should select a topic that is unique and interesting. You should give priority to a project that is experiment based. If you are selecting a theory based project you should ideally make a model on the project topic.
Selecting a topic from the textbook and making a project based on it by simply writing the contents from the textbook won't be impressive.
